For those who want a little more detail – we’ve picked the two most common.
Approaching from the A64 via Pickering
North or South bound on the A64 exit at the Malton Bypass Roundabout, taking the exit onto the A169 for Pickering. At the roundabout in Pickering continue on the A169 to Whitby. From Pickering it’s about another 15/20 minutes drive to the house. You’ll pass The Hole of Horcum, RAF Fylingdales and eventually signposts for Goathland, Grosmont and Egton. You are now close!
Shortly after passing the Egton turnoff you’ll see a sign for Blue Bank on the left followed by another sign for a parking layby for lorries. As you approach the lorry lay by you should slow down and indicate for a right turn. Adjacent to the end of the layby take a right turn and progress down the track, over a cattle grid. There will be a Yorkshire flag indicating the turning.
If you miss the turn off there are two viewing point car parks a couple of hundred metres further along the road on the right that you can turn round in.
Follow the track (a bit rough in places – so proceed slowly) to the bottom and right, heading towards High Quebec. You’ll come to two gates side by side, go through the one on the right, it says Low Quebec on the top bar. When you pass the old railway carriage carry on down the hill (follow the green sign for Intake Farm). At the end of the track is our house – you can’t go any further so you must have arrived.

AT the roundabout before entering Whitby take the A169 to Sleights/Pickering. Drive through Sleights village and up Blue Bank. You’ll pass two car parks/viewing points on your left. Once up on the flat and opposite a lay-by for lorries there is a turning Take that left turn onto the track and over the cattle grid.
Follow the track (a bit rough in places – so proceed slowly) to the bottom and right, heading towards High Quebec. You’ll come to two gates side by side, go through the one on the right, it says Low Quebec on the top bar.
